Humane Society gets new rescue vehicle
On Sept. 20, Baierl Automotive donated a new Subaru Forester to the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society, which has an adoption center on Western Avenue.
“It was just a natural fit for Baierl Subaru to get involved with WPHS,” said owner Lee Baierl in a press release. “We kept running into them at community events and saw how hard they worked to find new homes for animals. As an Open Door Shelter we thought they needed our support.”
In addition to using the vehicle for rescue and off-site operations, Baierl and the Humane Society will give awards throughout the year for participants who spot the Subaru and talk about it on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. The social media promotion is meant to spread awareness of the Humane Society and its mission. For more information, visit the Humane Society website at www.wpahumane.org.
