Rather than introducing premium pricing on some bus routes, as initially planned, the overall Zone 2 fare will increase to $3.25 from $2.75.

The Zone 1 fare will still increase from $2 to $2.25 for a one-way trip.  The adjusted fair increase does not affect proposed service cuts, and wil go into effect Jan. 1, 2011.

Port Authority is accepting additional comments on the adjusted fare increase from Oct. 13 until 4 p.m. on Nov. 12.  They will accept comments through mail or electronically through www.portauthority.org.  Port Authority will also hold a public hearing Nov. 3 from 9 – 11 a.m. in their board room.
