The newly opened Stage AE is hosting a community ice rink for public ice skating and youth hockey games from tomorrow (Christmas Eve) until Jan. 2.  For a full schedule, visit the official Winter Classic website, here.

Northsiders, along with Pittsburghers and out of town visitors, will have the opportunity to rent skates and test out their prowess on the ice during public skate times at the community rink between Stage AE and Heinz Field.

Public skate costs $7 per person per session, and skate rentals are $3.  According to the website, skates for rent are limited in quantity and will be rented on a first-come, first-served basis.  A coupon is available for 2-for-1 skating during certain sessions on the official website.

The public skate schedule is as follows:

• Dec. 24: 3 – 9 p.m.
• Dec. 25: noon – 9 p.m.
• Dec. 26: 7 – 8:20 p.m.
• Dec. 27: 3 – 4:20 p.m.
• Dec. 28: 3 – 4:20 p.m., 6:30 – 7:50 p.m.
• Dec. 29: 3 – 4:20 p.m., 6:30 – 7:50 p.m.
• Dec. 30: 3 – 4:20 p.m., 6:30 – 7:50 p.m.
• Dec. 31: 6:30 – 8 p.m., 8:10 – 9:30 p.m., 9:40 p.m. – midnight
• Jan. 1: 4:10 – 5:40 p.m., 6 – 7:30 p.m.
• Jan. 2: no public skate
