Riverview United Presbyterian Church is holding a blood drive in honor of its pastor,who was recently diagnosed with acute myloid lukemia, a form of cancer.

Reverend Kellie Weekley Mills is starting her second round of chemo therapy and may need a bone marrow transplant.  Her family members are being tested for a bone marrow match, but the church encourages all Northsiders to come and be screened, and to give blood.

The bone marrow screening and blood drive will take place at Riverview United Presbyterian from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16. Even if you cannot help Reverend Mills directly, your blood donation will help others in Mills’s position who need blood transfusions or bone marrow transplants because of illness.
