Pittsburgh Marathon to feature ‘neighborhood festivals’
We received the following email from Council President Darlene Harris’s office and would like to pass it on:
Dear Neighbors:
The Pittsburgh Marathon and its sponsor, Dick’s Sporting Goods, are helping to organize creative Neighborhood Festivals along the Marathon route.
The Marathon will be on May 15, 2011, and in District 1 it will pass through East Allegheny, Allegheny Commons Park and Allegheny Center, and will touch Troy Hill.
We hope you will be involved — and let me know how I can help. They are looking for each neighborhood to create its own unique theme.

Remember that 88 percent of out-of-towners who have come to run the marathon indicated that they would come back as tourists!
