Development of any community not only takes time, but manpower as well.
Rivers Casino is looking for businesses and organizations in the Northside in need of volunteers and will provide that manpower necessary to make vast improvements to any aspect of the community.
Rivers Casino has been participating in volunteer events once a month, ranging from cleaning trash from the shorelines, to spending time with veterans at the VA’s Home. Currently they are looking for projects to participate in during the 2012 year.
Projects are not merely limited to trash pickup, but can vary greatly. George Matta, the director of business development and community relations at Rivers Casino, said that they are looking for “…any volunteer project within the community that would make some contribution.”
One project is selected monthly and the casino works to provide as much support as they can, often even looking within their own budget to see how much of the costs they can cover themselves. The number of volunteers during each event ranges based on the demand of the project.
The casino does ask, however, that projects be scheduled for earlier in the week, preferably Monday through Wednesday, as the casino is at its busiest on the weekend.
Businesses and organizations interested in submitting a volunteer project should contact George Matta at 412-566-4500.
