Though questions still linger about the occupants, leases and a timetable of completion for the Garden Theater Block, Central Northsiders are beginning to see progress on Federal Street.
While waiting for restaurants to sign leases, Garden Theater Block developer Zukin Development Corp. has begun stabilization work on several buildings on Federal Street.
Zukin President, Wayne Zukin said the work they’re doing is “pretty extensive,” and an important step to the redevelopment.
Though no businesses have officially signed leases with Zukin for The Garden Theater Block, local places such as Nakama Japanese Steakhouse, owners of Round Corner Cantina, the Firehouse Lounge and the East End Food Co-op have been named as possible occupants.
Zukin said that they hope to have leases signed by the end of the month and start work on the North Avenue buildings in the spring.
