Attendees of the 11th Annual Glass Slipper Ball were able to wine and dine on a plethora of different appetizers from over 20 different food and libation purveyors.

On Saturday, February 22, the 11th Annual Glass Slipper Ball was held at the Four Points by Sheraton in Cranberry.

The ball was created to raise awareness about violence against women, and to provide scholarships and funding for education to allow women to be financially self-sufficient.

Crisis Center North, a nonprofit organization and a counseling and educational resource center, is one of the beneficiaries of the ball. It is CCN’s mission to empower victims of domestic violence, and cultivate community attitudes that break the cycle of violence.

The ball also benefits Genesis of Pittsburgh, Girls Hope, HEARTH, North Hills Community Outreach, as well as giving direct scholarships to a high school student and a LaRoche College business major.

Zonta of Three Rivers Pittsburgh North plans the event every year, and is a local branch of Zonta International. It is Zonta’s mission to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy.

Alicia Dal Lago, former board president of CCN, said she has attended the event ever year and thanks the members of Zonta Three Rivers North for their dedication.

“The funds raised by the Glass Slipper Ball have helped many victims of domestic violence get an education,” Dal Lago said.

Grace Coleman, executive director of CCN, said in a previous article that since partnering with the ball, over $100,000 has been collected for CCN and directed to victims of domestic violence.

The money will be awarded to the organizations at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14 at Fresco’s in Wexford.
