Third Steeltown Jazz Storytellers event this Saturday to honor award-winning composer

James Street Grastropub & Speakeasy in Historic Deutschtown along with Ahsek Media, will host the third installment of the Steeltown Jazz Storytellers, a monthly event supporting jazz music’s presence and history in Pittsburgh, this Saturday, April 18 at 8 p.m. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. VIP tickets cost $50 in advance and $60 at the door, while general admission tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door. Tickets are limited with only 24 VIP tickets and 56 general admission tickets available.
This month’s event focuses on the musical styles of Henry Mancini and the night will begin with a video of him. After the video, Mr. Bob Studebaker, known as the “Voice of Jazz in Pittsburgh,” will lead a panel of jazz musicians on a discussion about their jazz involvement and memories. Attendees can expect to listen to some intriguing stories from the talented musicians. The panelists will also engage in a Q&A with the audience.
The night will conclude with the Nick DeCesare Quartet and Eric DeFade Little Big Band performing great jazz music. In addition to enjoying stimulating discussion and great music, attendees will be able to purchase delicious food and fancy cocktails.
