Brother’s Brother Foundation (BBF) is supporting three medical teams leaving for Nepal in the next 10 days. These groups will leave from Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Loveland, Colorado. BBF also meet privately with representatives of the Nepalese Community in Pittsburgh Thursday, April 30 in the BBF office in Central Northside.
BBF is providing medical supplies for several medical teams doing hand-carry emergency work in Nepal. BBF is also working with Himalayan Health Care (HHC), a Nepal-based charity, to provide emergency relief in the wake of the earthquake that devastated the region. HHC has provided primary healthcare, education and income-generation opportunities in rural Nepal for 23 years. In addition to training health workers, HHC provides vaccine administration, supplies essential medicines to remote villages and helps patients secure specialty care. BBF will also be working with ADRA International which is focused on a response to the earthquake helping with health and shelter needs. Donations to BBF will help to purchase and ship needed supplies and will help with reconstruction efforts.
