Troy Hill event to showcase neighborhood’s charm
By Justin Criado
Troy Hill will be the center of the city this weekend, Oct. 2-4, as Next Three Days will focus on the community’s vibrant, often overlooked, personality in the form of artist events, food and beer.
The Urban Redevelopment Authority, the Mayor’s office and NEXTpittsburgh created the event to highlight neighborhoods throughout the city that are “under the radar.”
Festivities include comedy shows; a bake-off featuring celebrity judge Rick Sebak (the unofficial King of Pittsburgh); food and drink specials at Penn Brewery, Wigle Whiskey and Scratch Food & Beverage; and more carnival revelries.
For more information about each day’s events visit the official website.
Organizers are still looking for artists and entries for the back-off. To enter your bake goods in to the competition contact Alyse Horn (alysehorn@gmail.com) or Rebecca Hurst (beckahurst@aol.com).
