Northview Heights women writers to hold public reading at Neu Kirche
The Women Writers of Northview Heights will hold a public reading Dec. 10 at Neu Kirche Contemporary Art Center in East Deutschtown. The writers will be reading their favorite personal poems and writings on life, love, family and the future.
Women Writers is led by Pittsburgh artist, Hudson Rush, who encouraged the self-expression of ten women through storytelling in both written and verbal forms. The artist has been mentoring the Women of the Northview Heights Family Support Center since June during weekly writing workshops.
“The women of Northview Heights have been requesting a creative writing outlet throughout the past year of support group,” Sara Nevels, Northview Heights Support Center Program Director, said in a statement. “The women are dedicated to the group and to each other allowing for an easy sharing of work at a very personal level. In turn, the women feel their voices are being heard and their stories are important to both their own personal process and evolution, as well as helpful and therapeutic for others.”
The reading is from 6-8 p.m. and is free to the public.
