The maker movement is coming to Pittsburgh with “the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth” — and you could be part of it.
Maker Faire Pittsburgh is a showcase for creators of all ages and skill levels, from the scientist to the artist to the DIY enthusiast and beyond. Exhibits can include visual arts, toys, electronic devices, culinary creations, science experiments and more. Students, entrepreneurs, clubs, organizations and other Makers are given a platform to share their creations with the community.
The fair is calling for project submissions for the October 15-16 event, which will be held on the Northside at Nova Place and Buhl Community Park. Entry forms must be completed by July 15 at http://makerfairepittsburgh.com/exhibit-at-maker-faire-pittsburgh/.
As only the second full-scale Maker Faire ever held in Pittsburgh, Makers have the chance to be part of something extraordinary. The 2015 fair drew over 200 participants and 10,000 attendees as a showcase of Pittsburgh’s creative talent and innovative spirit. Maker Faire Pittsburgh is sponsored by Chevron and Make:, and the fair is produced by the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh in cooperation with Hack Pittsburgh. Other community partners include Innovation Works, Assemble, TechShop Pittsburgh and others, making the fair a true community event.
