Perry High School Community Day was held on Monday, June 13 to highlight the achievements and future endeavors of the faculty, staff and students, and to continue establishing a strong relationship with the community.
The event ran from 1-4 p.m. and included a variety of activities for participants to engage in, including a dunk tank, sumo wrestling, a raffle and a talent show.
During the 2015-2016 school year, the music department represented PHS over 25 times through performances. Students also had the opportunity to learn how to create films; the Cosmetology, Health Career, and JROTC programs were all a success.
Next year, the school is on track to implement the STEAM magnet program, which incorporates Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics; the Door Campaign will continue using the STEM curriculum for the hands-on aquaponic program for select 9th grade classes.
