James Street to hold fundraisers for renovations
James Street Gastropub & Speakeasy needs to undergo renovations to meet the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board requirements, as they have received noise complaints and violations.
Kevin Saftner, the general manager of James Street, said the sound of amplified music that can be heard beyond the licensed premises’ property line is not allowed by law.
“Penalties include stiff fines, suspension of the liquor license, business closure due to being a ‘nuisance bar’, even jail time,” Saftner said in an email. “We must make serious renovations to the building or risk having to close our doors.”
