Manchester Block Party this weekend
On Sunday, July 17 the third One Northside Block Party will commence in Manchester from 4-7 p.m. at Manchester Field located on the corner of Fulton Street and Juniata Street.
According to the One Northside website, “Manchester is one of the most architecturally rich and diverse neighborhoods in the city of Pittsburgh” and “encompasses the largest historic district in the city and boasts some of the finest examples of nineteenth and early twentieth century architecture in Southwestern Pennsylvania.”
The events will have live music and food trucks, stories being collected about the neighborhood by The Saturday Light Brigade, hands-on activities with Pittsburgh Center for Creative Reuse, a climbing wall from Venture Outdoors, a mobile stage from Flyspace Productions, and hands on activities from City of Play.
The featured bands include The Flow Band, Byron Nash & Plan B, and Ishtar. The participating food trucks are Miss Meatball and Franktuary. There will also be local visual artist and screen printing with AIR: Artists Image Resource, hands on activities with Mattress Factory – Museum of Contemporary Art, historical photos courtesy of Allegheny City Historic Gallery, and the Storymobile from Reading is FUNdamental Pittsburgh, which will be giving out free books.
