The Bastard Bearded Irishmen closed down the Main Stage on Saturday night during the Deutschtown Music Festival.

Deutschtown was alive and rocking last weekend with the sights and sounds of its fourth annual music festival — an event that drew bands, vendors and droves of visitors from across the city.

With performances reaching from Manchester to Troy Hill, the festival brought entertainment and activities of all types to the Northside on Friday and Saturday.

The Park Stage was a popular spot for attendees to enjoy the weather and the seven bands who performed there during DMF.

Local bands and musicians of various genres, including rap, rock, and alternative, played for enthusiastic crowds on three outdoor stages and at 17 local restaurants and other businesses. The main stage, set up at the intersection of Middle Street and Foreland Street accompanied by the adjacent beer garden, created a hub of activity in the area throughout the festival. Several musicians played until and sometimes past midnight at some restaurant locations, ensuring the party continued well after sundown.

Food tents and trucks lined Foreland Street and the North Park of the Allegheny Commons during the daylight hours. The incredible array of offerings included several barbecue options as well as cupcakes, halal, popsicles, Mexican, and more. This selection, paired with the options from restaurants hosting bands, provided the energy needed for people to boogie the night away.

The festival also included tabling by assorted nonprofits, artists and merchants offering information and goods for sale to attendees. In North Park, a rock climbing structure and inflatable structures, including a bounce house, added even more variety to the event and engaged visitors of all ages.

As an experience unlike any other in Pittsburgh, this festival is able to showcase the talented performers and also the traits that make the Northside shine.
