Mike Mitchell, owner of Allegheny City Market, would like to let Northsiders know that contrary to Facebook and Craigslist postings, he is not selling the market or going out of business. In fact, he just bought $3,000 worth of groceries this week.

The posts were made by an ex-employee who was fired on July 4. Mitchell said she was running the market’s Facebook account, and upon being fired she changed the account password and started making false posts online.

“My wife and I made the mistake of trusting her,” Mitchell said.

Mitchell said he is in the process of getting a new password for the Facebook account.
