Sneak peek of 2016 Maker Faire

During a preview of what is to come, members of the media were granted a sneak peek at some of the inventions, crafts, and projects that will be part of this years 2016 Maker Faire Pittsburgh on October 15-16.
Held at 10:30 a.m. in Nova Place Plaza, speakers included County Executive Rich Fitzgerald, Executive Director of the Children’s Museum Jane Werner, Director of Maker Faire Pittsburgh Kayce Dewey, and Sunanna Chand, the learning innovation strategist for the Remake Learning Council.
Over a dozen Makers were present, including Assemble Pittsburgh, BirdBrain Technologies, BoXZY, CleanRobotics, First Robotics, HackPGH, MAKESHOP, Pop Craft, RealBotics, SWPA IQ, TechShop, and Turtle Mail by AEDreams.
Maker Faire Pittsburgh is a showcase for creators of all ages and skill levels, from the scientist to the artist to the DIY enthusiast and beyond. Exhibits can include visual arts, toys, electronic devices, culinary creations, science experiments and more. Students, entrepreneurs, clubs, organizations and other Makers are given a platform to share their creations with the community.
