One Northside to hold next Block Party on Aug. 28
From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 28 in Buhl Community Park, the fourth One Northside Block Party will take place highlighting Allegheny City Central.
The event is rain or shine and open to the public. Musical entertainment will be provided by Working Breed, Two Tall Twins, and Mathew Tembo and the Afro Routes Band. Food vendors on site will be Vagabond Food Truck and Jim’s Smokin’ Q from Perrytowne Draft House.
Activities will include a mobile stage from Flyspace Productions, hands-on activities with Pittsburgh Center for Creative Reuse, Carnegie Science Center and the Mattress Factory, neighborhood stories being collected by the Saturday Light Brigade, screenprinting with AIR: Artists Image Resource, and games from City of Play. The Storymobile from Reading is FUNdamental will be giving out free books, and historical photos will be on display from Allegheny City Historic Gallery.
The New Hazlett Theater, Deutschtown Music Festival, and The Spout Fund also contributed to make this event possible.
