Community, police come together for ‘Get Stuffed with Love’
Community members and Pittsburgh Police Zone 1 Officers are teaming up to help those less fortunate this Thanksgiving season.
The annual event “Get Stuffed with Love,” which takes place across the city, provides free hot and traditional Thanksgiving Day meals to people in need. According to the press release, “Community members prepare the food and Pittsburgh Police deliver the meals on Thanksgiving morning. In 2015, over 2,600 Thanksgiving Day meals were served to households across the city.”
The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police are teaming up with the Rotary Clubs of Bethel-St. Clair and Northern Allegheny, and Holy Assumption of St. Mary Orthodox Church to prepare the meals this year.
If you are in need, or know someone who is, you can request a Thanksgiving meal by contacting the Pittsburgh Police Zone 1 Community Relations Officers Larry Crawford and Sylvester Wright by calling 412-323-7200. Meal requests must be made by Saturday, November 19.
