From 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18, One Northside will hold a Community Knowledge Session: Exploring Community Schools at the New Hazlett Theater, 6 Allegheny Square East.

This session will define the elements of community schools, provide local case studies, and examine how a community model that builds strategic partnerships with schools, families, businesses and social service providers can facilitate healthy, self-sustaining and thriving communities. The meeting will engage participants in exploring how this model can be tailored to meet the critical needs and culture of the Northside community.

Dr. Tyra Good and Selena Marshall, MSSA will facilitate the session and panel discussion. Invited panelists include representatives from Pittsburgh Public Schools, Manchester Academic Charter School, Manchester Youth Development Center, Propel Northside and Homewood Children’s Villiage.
