March newsletter from Councilwoman Darlene Harris
It is almost Spring in the City of Pittsburgh. To all of my fellow Northsiders who have faced the cold weather of these past few months, I commend you, and I hope that the first quarter of the New Year treated you well. March is a windy month, so be sure to bundle up even as some days may reach the 60s. Also be aware that black ice on freezing days is still on the roads. Drive carefully, observe the speed limits, and be especially mindful around schools, parks, and playgrounds.
My office has been extremely busy with plenty of new projects to get underway this season, and I am excited to tell you about several exciting events. First, the Pittsburgh Penguins are celebrating their 50th anniversary season, and the whole month of March is set to be Pittsburgh Penguins Month in the City of Pittsburgh. Also, the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade is on March 11, so be sure to make your way outside for a wonderful experience Downtown and in other parts of the City.
