Smallman Galley, the chef incubator in the Strip District, has been quite a success since opening its doors in 2015, and soon the Northside will gain a similar concept at Nova Place, 100 S. Commons.
Faros Properties, the owner and manager of Nova Place, announced last week that they will be partnering with the Galley Group, which is the parent company of the Smallman Galley, for a similar food hall style eatery. The location at Nova Place will open in early Fall 2017 and occupy a 5,500 square foot standalone building on the Plaza, the same space that was once occupied by PNC Bank.
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of Nova Place. Faros Properties has done an amazing job revitalizing the area and we are excited to provide an innovative and welcoming venue for the property’s office tenants, residents, game-day crowds, community events, and the growing tourist population in Pittsburgh,” said Galley Group Co-Founder Ben Mantica.
The new food hall will be reminiscent of Smallman Galley, with a few new elements. More details will be released in the coming months.
“We’re ecstatic to welcome Galley Group—it was very important to us to find a restauranteur that values the community as much as we do. The new concept is an innovative dining experience that will be a huge value-add for the neighborhood,” said Faros Properties Managing Partner Elliot Gould.
