Allegheny West house, garden tour

Spend a summer evening in Allegheny West for the Tour & Tasting in Old Allegheny on Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3.
The tour will highlight a handful of historic homes, structures, and gardens while providing a unique setting for guests to enjoy Spanish wines and tapas.
This year, guests will visit two properties designed by famed architect H.H. Richardson for which the style ‘Richardsonian Romanesque’ is named. Most well-known as the architect of the Allegheny County Courthouse located on Grant St. downtown; Allegheny West features several more examples of his work as well as additional homes in a similar style.
On Friday, the tour will be held from 5-9 p.m. and on Saturday there will be two tours: 1-5 p.m. and 5-9 p.m. Tickets are $75 and there is free parking is available on neighborhood streets. The tour will begin at Holmes Hall.

Accessibility: The event is a walking tour through approximately 6 square blocks of our neighborhood and many of the private houses have steps that must be negotiated so please plan accordingly. The tour happens rain or shine and will not be canceled for weather.
