Meeting on ending homelessness
Join the Allegheny County Homeless Advisory Board for a community meeting to explore the recommendations of the Allegheny County Strategic Plan to Prevent and End Homelessness and share your feedback prior to adoption of the plan.
The Northside meeting will be on from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday June 7, at the New Hazlett Theater.
The Allegheny County Homeless Advisory Board has been engaged in a community strategic planning process to develop a plan to prevent and end homelessness in Allegheny County over the last year. Since the kick-off last August, folks have been participating in focus groups, interviews, and planning sessions. Using the input and information gathered over the past several months, our consultants, Housing Innovations, have drafted a five-year plan entitled Allegheny County Strategic Plan to Prevent and End Homelessness.
This plan outlines a strategy to make homelessness rare, brief and non-recurring in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania by 2022. The plan builds upon the significant progress that has already been made, identifies gaps remaining and prioritizes strategies to develop a system that efficiently uses resources to rapidly and permanently house people experiencing housing crises. Join us for a community meeting where we will explore the recommendations of the plan and gather your feedback prior to adoption.
