This weekend is shaping up to be a doozy. From Bacon Roasts at Huszar and Brightwood Pumpkinfest to the grand openings of Threadbare Cider House in Spring Garden and Get Hip Records Store in Chateau, there’s plenty of fun for Northsiders to enjoy.

Trivia at Allegheny City Brewing
Trivia master, Aaron DeLeo is back at Allegheny City Brewing for their monthly trivia night. The fun starts at 6 p.m. and winners can earn a variety of prizes. For more information visit the event’s FB page.
Gypsy Stringz at Huszar

Threadbare Cider House Grand Opening
The team at Wigle Whiskey is opening up their brand new cider house, Threadbare in Spring Garden. Tickets for the grand opening are $30 and include two drinks, refreshments and mini tours of the cider house and brewing facility. For more information on the event visit Threadbare’s event page.
GASP-toberfest at Penn Brewery
The Group Against Smog and Pollution (GASP) will be hosting their GASP-toberfest at Penn Brewery from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event will feature a slew of prizes, a silent auction, live music, Bavarian treats and plenty of fall and Halloween-themed games and activities. Single Out Social Group at Max’s Allegheny Tavern
Single Out will be hosting an LBGT social night at Max’s Allegheny Tavern from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The event is designed to help encourage local Pittsburgh singles to get out and meet new friends and potentially create new relationships in a laid-back social setting. Halloween Bash Sleepover at Carnegie Science Center
The monthly event is back with plenty of ghastly Halloween fun. Check-in for the event starts at 6 p.m. and guests will be able to explore the museum after-hours, experience live theater and laser shows, plus guest will have the chance to sleep next to exhibits! Brightwood Pumpkinfest
The Brightwood Civic Group will be hosting their 26th annual Pumpkinfest at Providence Connections 1 p.m to 4 p.m. A Halloween costume contest will be held and plenty of fun, games and refreshments will be provided. For more information visit the event’s FB page.
A Few Bad Apples Ciderfest
The third annual A Few Bad Apples Ciderfest is back at Spring Hill Brewing. The three-course cider tasting will be accompanied by live music with additional beer provided by Spring Hill Brewing. The event runs from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. For more information visit the event’s FB page.
Get Hip Record Store Grand Opening
Get Hip Recording Studios will be hosting the grand opening of their new record store in Chateau (next to Bicycle Heaven and Johnny Angel’s Ginchy Stuf) with a live concert by Bipolaroid. The event will also include performances by Gas Tiger and DJ The Flipside Scotty “Flashback” and refreshments by Rock Bottom Brewery. Bacon Roast at Huszar

Funny Ladies at City Books
City Books will be hosting Funny Ladies: A Much Needed Night for Laughter from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Local Pittsburgh authors Jennifer Bannan, Rachel Brickner, Rachel Mabe and Shannon Reed will be reading a number of comical and satiric selections throughout the course of the night. Owl-o-Ween at the National Aviary
The first of two Owl-o-Ween events at the National Aviary begins this weekend. Guests can enjoy an array of Halloween-themed events focused around the new owl exhibits from crafts and costume contests to owl prowls and owl talks later in the day.
