It’s a Steelers playoff weekend, but don’t let that stop you from enjoying some concerts at Huszar, Andy Warhol Museum, The Park House, Commonplace Coffee or celebrating Martin Luther King Day at the Mattress Factory.

Gypsy Stringz at Huszar

Friday, January 12
Sounds Series: Beyond Concert
The Andy Warhol Theater will be hosting the second installment of the Beyond Microtonal Musical Festival and Symposium with performances from Barstow, Li Po Settings and LOADBANG. The concert will be curated by Barstow’s Harry Partch. The concert uses microtonal music to help inspire and discuss the connection between music, nature and world cultures. Coats for Cookies at Threadbare
In conjunction with the Buhl Foundation and One Northside, Threadbare Cider and Mead will hosting a winter coat drive on site. For each winter coat donated participants will receive either a glass of cider or a chocolate chip cookie. The coats will be distributed to Northside schools. City of Asylum Bookstore One-Year Anniversary
Alphabet City’s City of Asylum Bookstore will be celebrating their one-year anniversary from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The store will be offering 10 percent off all new books and all paperback fiction titles in addition to half-off all used books. Chillient at The Park House
The self-described Jewish soul band Chillient, will be performing at The Park House from 10 p.m. to midnight. The show is free to attend, for more information visit the event’s FB page.
Drag Queen Story Hour at Allegheny Carnegie Library
Drag Queen Story Hour returns to the Allegheny Library. The story hour recommended for children grades K thru 5, celebrates diversity, self-awareness and independence. The event will run from 2 p.m. till 3 p.m., for more information visit the library’s event page.

Get Cozy Concert at California Coffee Bar
Paz and Ukulele Eddie will be performing a free concert at California Coffee Bar in Brighton Heights from 12 p.m. till 2 p.m. For more information visit the event’s FB page.
Commonplace Community Art
Commonplace Coffee at Mexican War Streets will be hosting a community art project from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Participants will create a sun catcher mandalas, using frames and looms with pressed flowers.
NFL Playoffs: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
It’s still Steelers season and they’ll be plenty of activity here on the North Shore and the surrounding Northside neighborhoods, here’s a few options on where to watch the game:
Stage AE Steelers Tailgate

Federal Galley will be offering $3 craft beer specials for the full length of the Steelers-Jaguars playoff game.

MLK Day Birthday Bash at the Mattress Factory
The Mattress Factory will be opening their doors from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. The admission is strictly “give what you can.” The celebration will offer access to all of the museum’s exhibits and will include craft sessions for children of all ages along with music from DJ Dave Zak.
