I-279 HOV lanes scheduled for overnight closures until February 9
I-279 HOV lanes will be closed overnight starting Monday, January 29 until Friday, February 9
According to a news brief from PennDOT released earlier today, High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes on I-279 will be closed overnight throughout the Pittsburgh city lines and Ross Township.
Lanes will be closed from 8 p.m. till 4 a.m. starting January 29. However, during Pittsburgh Penguins home games the lanes remain open until two hours after the game. There are three home games during the closure window: January 30, February 2 and 6.
Construction will be completed by Trumbull Corporation. The project is part of the $87.94 million I-279 Parkway North Improvement Project, which aims to repair and preserve 30 bridges and overhead sign structures across the parkway in addition to anti-icing installation on bridges at the McKnight Road interchange.
