Northern Spy release at Threadbare Cider and Mead
The grand opening of Threadbare Cider and Mead’s outdoor space will launch with the release of their first-ever single varietal cider, “Northern Spy” in addition to offerings of s’mores pizza from the Threadbare kitchen. Ultimate Instagram Influencer Workshop at Nova Place
Alloy 26 in Nova Place will be hosting a social media workshop with Keep Pittsburgh Dope’s Chancellor Humphrey, successful Instagramers Nicole DiMarco and Erin Bachman. The three each have established brand names for themselves online and will be sharing marketing and branding tips during a panel. Steel City Slam

Two Scientists Walk into a Bar
The intellectual happy hour returns with 32 scientists at 16 Pittsburgh locations. From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. visit any of locations for a chance to ask two scientists a question specific to their specialized field of study. There are 8 participating locations on the Northside including Allegheny City Brewing, Bier’s Pub, The Foundry, Penn Brewery, Rivertowne, The Park House, Southern Tier Brewing Co., and Threadbare Cider and Mead. An Evening with Charlie Chaplin at Bier’s Pub
Bier’s Pub will host special screenings of 3 Charlie Chaplin classics, “The Rink,” “The Pawn Shop” and “One A.M.” The original scores will be composed by Tom Roberts and performed by clarinetist Mary Beth Malek of the Pittsburgh Opera and Pittsburgh Ballet Theater. Todd Snyder at City Books
Todd Snyder author of, “12 Rounds in Lo’s Gym: Boxing and Manhood in Appalachia,” will be at City Books from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for a special reading and signing. Laser Floyd Night at Carnegie Science Center
Pink Floyd and a laser light show, does life get any sweeter? The Carnegie Science Center will be hosting three shows inspired by the music of Pink Floyd. A 10 p.m. show will feature music from 4 albums including “Wish You Were Here” and “Dark Side of the Moon.” An 11 p.m. show will feature just the “Dark Side of the Moon” album and a midnight show will feature just “The Wall” album. Pirates Home Run 5K/10K Race
The annual Home Run Race is back. Participants can enjoy the 5K run/walk competition or challenge themselves with a 10K across the North Shore and downtown Pittsburgh. Registration is still open. Both races start at 7:20 a.m. For more information, visit the race’s website.
Anime Club & Cooking Matters Course at Woods Run Library
The Woods Run Library will be hosting an introductory culinary class, “Cooking Matters” from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Participants will learn about nutrition, meal plans and basic culinary skills.
