F.I.N.E Art Residency: Merav Kamel at the Children’s Museum
In part of the Children’s Museum’s F.I.N.E Art Residency program, Israeli soft sculptor Merav Kamel will be on site from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. to help teach an interactive session. For more information, visit the museum’s event page.
Northside Sandwich Week Kick-off
Get ready to loosen up your belts, the 7th annual Northside Sandwich Week Sandwich Sampler returns to The Grand Hall in The Priory at 6 p.m. Will Chateau Cafe and Cakery defend their title? Virtual Gaming at the Woods Run Library

The Local Record Release Party at Get Hip
Get Hip Record Store in Chateau will be hosting an album release party for The Local at 7 p.m. The alt-folk group will perform songs from their debut EP “Reverie,” which will also be available for purchase. The Art Car will be making a stop in Chateau this weekend from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. In part with a Three Rivers Heritage Cleanup effort from Friends of the Riverfront, Great Lakes Brewing and Allegheny Cleanways, Art About PGH will be on site helping re-purpose the “waste” into a trash-into-art project. The Day the Earth Stood Still at Rangos Giant Cinema
It is Sci-Fi Sunday — that’s a thing, right? Well, it is now, at least. Rangos Giant Cinema will be hosting a special screening of the 1951 classic, “The Day the Earth Stood Still.” Pittsburgh-based musician Ben Opie will be on site and will perform the movie’s introductory theme with the theremin, an electronic instrument used to compose a majority of the film’s score.
