Join Pittsburgh-based children’s author Kelly Starling Lyons for an introduction to writing children’s books. Learn about children’s book genres, the basics of publishing and how to find story ideas. Event is from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. and registration is recommended. More information here.

Three Rivers Regatta
Kick off this three-day event at Point State Park to celebrate water safety and river recreation. Enjoy food, music, boating, fireworks and family fun. “You Gotta Regatta!” More information on the website.
Northside Old Timers 11th Annual Unity Day Gathering in West Park

VegFest
The fourth annual VegFest returns to Pittsburgh in Allegheny Commons Park East. VegFest is a free outdoor festival for animal lovers and plant-based foodies celebrating veganism and sustainable living. Expect vegan food, cruelty-free merchandise vendors, live music, informational speakers, yoga and massage. Festival lasts from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, check out the festival website.
Vinyl Record Night at Park House
