In the Northside this weekend: Enjoy an autobiographical one-man show written by August Wilson and performed by Wali Jamal at New Hazlett Theater, help neighbors build the Baytree Community Garden in Observatory Hill and celebrate community with residents of Charles Street Valley and California-Kirkbride.

2018 Heinz Field Kickoff and Rib Fest

How I Learned What I Learned at New Hazlett Theater
Wali Jamal stars in this one-man show, an autobiographical play by August Wilson exploring friends, work, racism, music and love. By request of the artist, audience members should be at least 18 years old. Price is the $13 student cost for everyone on Thursday night. Runs through Saturday, September 1. MAKEnight: Medieval! (21+) at the Children’s Museum
From 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., enjoy a Medieval-themed MAKEnight and get a chance to solder your own metal crown, learn papermaking skills and dance around a Maypole. Good Friday at the Andy Warhol Museum

Help transform an overgrown vacant lot into a community garden in Observatory Hill.
