Illegal Libations: Prohibition Cocktail Night at The Modern Cafe
Celebrate Pittsburgh Libations Week with cocktail throwbacks from Wigle Whiskey like the French 75, Bees Knees, Manhattans and Gin Rickeys from 5 to 11 p.m. No tickets needed. Brighton Heights Lutheran Church Vendor & Craft Fair
Event takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tables are supplied for $25 per 8-foot table and $5 extra for electricity. Vendors are also asked to make a raffle prize donation valued at $20. A Very Kusama Halloween ArtLAb at The Mattress Factory
Carve and paint your own jack-o’-lanterns inspired by Mattress Factory artist Yayoi Kusama. ARTLab is held on the first and third Saturdays of the month from 1 to 4 p.m. All ages welcome. Dogtoberfest at Federal Galley
Bring your dog and enjoy a fall brew on the patio at Federal Galley. Pet costumes are encouraged! Prizes will be awarded for “Best Pup & Parent Costume,” “Most Creative Costume,” “Best ‘Other Animal’ Costume,” and “Best in Show.” Artist Jeff Harris will be available to draw caricatures. Stair Stepping & Cider Tasting with Threadbare
Explore the famous steps of Spring Garden and Troy Hill with Laura Zurowski, the creator of Mis.Steps, as she guides participants through some of the most impressive stairs in Pittsburgh. Tour starts and finishes at Threadbare Cider House. Tickets are $12 and include a flight of cider. A portion of ticket sales benefits the Mis-Steps project. More information available via Facebook.
Pittsburgh Monster Pumpkins Festival
This free, two-day event starts on Saturday, October 20 and features a lineup of pumpkin-themed events including some of the most acclaimed pumpkin carvers in the country, a pumpkin pie eating contest and food, drink and craft vendors.
