Arnold’s Tea on East Ohio Street reopened on Sept. 17, 2018. The cafe, founded by Verna Arnold in 2015, is under the new ownership and management of Claudy Pierre.
Arnold’s Tea has been a Northside favorite for the past three years. Profiled for Pittsburgh Magazine’s “Women & Business” in 2017, Arnold was an exceptional business owner who made sure her customers were well cared for and treated them like family. The cafe served neighbors
from all over the city who appreciated the sincere, genuine service Arnold offered.
New owner, Pierre, is the chef and owner of Eminent
Hospitality Solutions Co. Chef Pierre combines his passion for fresh food and tea to offer Northside residents and other
Arnold’s Tea visitors with a great mix of the two. Pierre said he will not make any drastic changes that will take away from what Arnold created. The ones he will make are to better serve the “communiTEA,” as he spells it, like new outdoor seating, a few new menu items including a variety of soups and more vegetarian options. Pierre will ensure that Arnold’s legacy will live on. He’s grateful for the solid foundation Arnold built for him and the diverse communities his customers come from.
“I will continue to keep the doors open and be a space
where the community can come and be welcomed, feel
comfortable, whether it’s for a cup of tea, coffee or a bowl of soup,” said Pierre. “Come as you are.”
Arnold’s Tea is located at 502 E. Ohio St. in Historic
Deutschtown. It’s open for business Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
