The Northside Employment Institute Open House
The Employment Institute of Auberle, which serves 4,000 at-risk children and families primarily in eight counties in southwestern Pennsylvania, is partnering with North Side/Shore Chamber of Commerce member One Northside. Learn more about what they’re doing to connect employers and job seekers from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at CoLab 18. Printmaking Walk-In Open Studio at Artists Image Resource (AIR)
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 10 p.m., AIR offers a Printmaking Open Studio for experienced screen printers working on short-run projects that can be completed in one evening. Good Friday at The Andy Warhol Museum
During the month of January, Good Fridays are FREE. Each Good Friday in January, enjoy free museum admission and a cash bar while special guest DJs Gusto and Naeem mix up a variety of R&B, disco, funk and electronic tracks. Event is presented by UPMC Health Plan. More information available here.
Benefit Bottle Release at Spring Hill Brewing
Is “waste less” on your list of 2019 resolutions? The Free Store at Propel Northside’s Community Wellness Center
Community members are welcome to visit the free store from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to get needed items such as clothing and personal care products. Shoppers of various ages are invited to select up to five items during their shopping experience! They’re encouraged to take only what they need. If you’d like to donate, donations are accepted on Tuesdays from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. and Thursdays from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Propel Northside Community Wellness Center is located at 1805 Buena Vista St., Pittsburgh, PA, 15212. Locomotion Weekend at the Carnegie Science Center
Engineers of all ages will love these train layouts and hands-on activities. See a rail yard full of guest train displays owned and operated by local hobbyists and bring your own model trains for a free checkup at the “Loco Doctor” table, which includes basic repairs, cleaning, and oiling.
