Roads closed temporarily in Northside for lead line, water valve replacements
Several roads are closed this week due to lead service line replacements. Riverview Avenue is also affected.
The Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority (PWSA) has released a list of several streets in the Northside that will be closed temporarily for lead service line replacements.
According to a PWSA representative, the list of dates and work areas is put out weekly, but can change due to weather, emergency issues, or a workforce that’s delayed from previous days. Streets are always open to local traffic though, the representative said, even while PWSA is working. Regular PWSA work hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the weekdays. Roads will be open to the public on weeknights and weekends.
Roads include:
Hemphill Street (Perrysville Avenue – Semicir Street)
Richey Street (Perrysville Avenue – Ruggles Street)
Dunlap Street (Perrysville Avenue – Ruggles Street)
Defoe Street (Hemphill Street – Perrysville Avenue)
Venture Street (Oklahoma Street – Perrysville Avenue)
East Street (Evergreen Road – Baytree Street)
Semicir Street
Hemphill Street (Semicir Street – Perrysville Avenue)
Additionally, there are two closures on Riverview Avenue. One is at the entrance to Riverview Park, which is due to residents’ lead line replacements, while the other is for a 12-inch water valve replacement inside the park. The water valve replacement is expected to be complete by this evening.
