Grand Reopening of the Northeast Fountain
The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, in partnership with the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny Commons Initiative, and Northside Leadership Conference, invites you to attend the grand reopening of the historic Northeast Fountain. A fun celebration with activities and food. PLEASE REGISTER HERE if you intend to join. Event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the corner of Cedar Avenue and East North Avenue in Allegheny Commons Park. More details here.
Big Band Swing with Beginner Swing Dance Lesson at Allegheny Elks Lodge #339
Come on out to the Elks Lodge for another awe-inspiring performance by Mark Peters and The Jazz Conspiracy! As always, $10 general admission, $5 for students with student ID. Mark leads a beginner’s swing dance lesson at 7:15 and the band starts at 8. 50/50 raffle, corny jokes and loads of big band knowledge by Kyle Simpson, and the most fabulous lead trumpet player you’ll hear in the region (Tim Brutscher). Open to the public. Free parking. No dance experience or partner required. Great for folks who want to enjoy live music without dancing. Full bar with cheap drinks. Maifest at Teutonia Mannerchor
Come to this public festival to welcome spring at North Side/Shore Chamber Member Teutonia Mannerchor! What can you expect? Music and dancing, German food and beer, Beer mug with your $5 entry fee, and tours of the Teutonia! Event is from 5 to 11 p.m. on Friday, May 3, and noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday, May 4. Craft Night – First Fridays at MWS
May Craft Night: Shibori Indigo Dyeing. PLEASE NOTE: Due to the interest of these events and the desire to limit disappointment, we now have an online sign up for the night. YOU MUST REGISTER ahead of time through the ticket link to reserve your spot for the evening. Please bring your own white cloth i.e. tea towels, onesie, napkins, tote, tank. Tea towels available for purchase. All craft nights are $5 at the door to join, which includes craft supplies, instructions, snacks. The evening is now BYOB so you can enjoy your favorite choice of beverage if you’d like. Drinks from the coffee bar will be available for purchase when you arrive. More information is available here.

Kentucky Derby Party at 412 Brewery
You don’t want to miss this! Wear a crazy hat and be in the running for a 412 gift basket consisting of a free growler, glasses, and more! This will also be the kickoff to our new all-PA craft cocktails starting with a mint julep (with honey bourbon from Xplorer Spirits and mint ginger ale from Natrona Bottling)🍹 Event is from 2 p.m. ’til the end of the race. View spring offerings, enjoy live jazz courtesy of MCG Jazz, and learn how you or your organization can partner with the DMC to promote horticultural and agricultural education in our local communities. The DMC’s 2019 spring offerings include: signature Phalaenopsis Orchids; premium hanging baskets, hardy Hydrangeas; and an assortment of annuals, herbs, and vegetables. Roundabout Pop Up Beer Garden Season Opener
River life! Are you itching to get back down to the riverfront pop up beer garden for the 2019 season? Come out from 2pm to 8pm and get ready for some much needed Pittsburgh sun this year. Good friends La Palapa will be there with plenty of tacos, quesadillas, and more. DJ Pandemic Pete from 3pm to 7pm. Hey, if the weather is good, grab a bike and hit the 3 Rivers Trail. Da Vinci Weekend at Carnegie Science Center
Celebrate 500 years of the original Renaissance man at Carnegie Science Center’s Da Vinci 500 Weekend. Open today from noon to 5 p.m. Da Vinci 500 Weekend will mark the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death with live demonstrations, a community design project, and other activities in Da Vinci The Exhibition, highlighting his accomplishments in science, art, engineering, and anatomy. While supplies last, visitors to Da Vinci The Exhibition during Da Vinci 500 Weekend will receive a free commemorative wooden coin featuring a design inspired by the original Renaissance man with the purchase of a Da Vinci The Exhibition ticket.
