Cafe Innovation: Startup Ethics & Values at Alloy 26
“Ben Herndon, Head of AI strategy at Vista Private Equity will keynote the December Cafe IW focused on why investors care about companies having an ethics and values strategy. The keynote will be followed by a discussion moderated by CMU’s CREATE Lab with a panel of founders from the recent AlphaLab Gear cohort that participated in the Ethics and Values pilot program. The panel will focus on how thinking about Ethics and Values from day 1 helped their company be more successful with customers, recruiting & retaining their team, and with fundraising. The panel will offer practical advice and lessons learned that will be useful for other early-stage tech companies that want to create their own ethics strategy.” Event starts at 8:30 a.m. Coffee/tea and light breakfast will be provided. The Dead Flowers at The Park House II
“Ruby Claire’s Dead Flowers are at the historic Park House on Pittsburgh’s Northside. Playing acoustic/electric rock, folk and contemporary hits from the 60s though today. Old Allegheny Victorian Christmas House Tour
“…Six (6) restored Victorian homes plus the historic Calvary United Methodist Church, famous for its beautiful Louis Tiffany stained glass windows, all decorated to celebrate a Nineteenth Century Christmas. Tour guides will explain Victorian holiday traditions, provide the history of Allegheny West and its famous Nineteenth Century residents and discuss the individual homes as they are visited.” Friday night’s tour is from 5 to 8 p.m.; Saturday’s tours are from from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Guided tours leave every 12 minutes.
