Blockchain In The Burgh Meetup at CoLab 18
“Blockchain In The Burgh Meetup is a community of blockchain/cryptocurrency enthusiasts, educators, and early adopters. The goal of the Meetup is to educate Pittsburgh and the surrounding regions about the fascinating world of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. The Meetup is geared toward all skill levels of those who would like to share their knowledge, and foster the local development, investment, usage, and adoption of blockchain technologies. You are invited to attend the next Meetup, which will take place today from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at CoLab 18 inside Nova Place, located at 100 South Commons. The featured guest speaker this month is Rich Sanders, a blockchain forensics expert and cryptocurrency cybercrime investigator that co-founded CipherBlade, the only firm that provides dedicated cybercrime investigations and other solutions. Rich works closely with cryptocurrency exchanges, regulators, and law enforcement to clean up the space while advocating for privacy and advancement of blockchain technology. Mexican War Streets Society General Membership Meeting

Chad Sweeney has published six books of poetry, including Little Million Doors (Nightboat Books, winner of the Nigthboat Books Prize, nominated for Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award), Parable of Hide and Seek (Alice James) and Wolf’s Milk (bilingual Spanish/English, Forklift Books)—as well as two books of translation, most recently Pablo Neruda’s final book, The Call to Destroy Nixon and to Advance the Chilean Revolution (Marick, 2019). “‘Keep this Coupon’ is a series of encounters that will connect presentations of current projects by working artists with exhibitions of related content from the Artists Image Resource print archive. These small events will be complimented by actions that will include hands-on making activities that further inform the work on display. The first 2020 Action is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 29 and will include work from AIR’s Golden Cage Portfolio Project. The portfolio includes work by artists Robert Hodge (HOU), Robert Williams (NYC), Maritza Mosquera (PGH), Darrell Kinsel (PGH), Quaishawn Whitlock (PGH) and Bekezela Mguni (PGH). Work from the AIR archive will be curated by artists Mark Franchino and Jeremy Boyle and curator Vicky A. Clark. Hands-on printing and demonstrations will be led by artists Jesse Caggiano, Matt George, Quaishawn Whitlock. Each of these events will be open to the public with a required RSVP to effectively organize activities throughout the studio (space is limited).
