The Northside Chronicle’s 2023 Primary Election Guide
Important Deadlines
Primary Election Day is May 16, and polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. This is a primary election, and the general election will take place on Nov. 7 later this year.
May 9 is the last day to apply for a mail-in or civilian absentee ballot. May 16, at 8 p.m., is the latest time for the County Board of Elections to receive voted mailin and civilian absentee ballots. May 23 is the last day for the County Board of Elections to receive voted military and overseas absentee ballots, though they must be submitted for delivery no later than 11:59 p.m. on May 15.
In-Person Polling Places
Pennsylvania’s polling place locator can be found online, at pavoterservices. pa.gov/pages/pollingplaceinfo.aspx.
A list of polling places for Allegheny County can be found at alleghenycounty.us/ elections/on-election-day.aspx and clicking the option “countywide polling place list.”
Anyone still in line to vote at their polling place by 8 p.m. will still be allowed to vote.
