Chamber Update: July 2023
The Northside North Shore Chamber serves the business community in and around the Northside and has been doing so since 1897. We currently have 315 member businesses, and we serve them by promoting, connecting and supporting.
Here are some of our recent activities and updates.
Members
Renewed Members: The following 18 companies or organizations renewed their membership in the past month: ALCO Parking, Bernie’s Photo Center, Cardello Associates, Donatelli Granite (Rome Monument), Flyspace Productions, Jeffrey Martin Global Media, Lindenmeyr Munroe, Mascaro Construction Company, NHM Magazine, Pit Stop Express, Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, Pittsburgh Pirates, Riverside Center for Innovation, Shamon Tate Walker’s SHINE, Spin, SSB Bank, Triangle Tech and Xycom Technology Group New Members: We were pleased to welcome the following 11 companies or organizations as new members in the past month: BBSI, Dominique Murray Photography, Doodle’s Dogs, Focus Factory Video, Howard Hanna, Levy Restaurants, Momin’s Market, On Time Delivery, Spring Garden Lending Group, Ten Four Social and The Residences @ The Garden
Community calendar
There are so many fun things to do this summer in Pittsburgh! If you’re curious about programs and events in the Northside, the chamber’s community calendar is a great place to look!
By the first of each month, the chamber collects all the Northside events that we know about and enters them into the community calendar that is available on our website, northsidechamberofcommerce.com/events/community-calendar.
Public Safety Committee
In service to the membership and the community, the chamber leads a business-focused public safety committee. The committee has identified key issues, goals and activities.
Goal: Decrease negative effect of public safety issues on the business community.
- Activity: Determine statistics to watch.
- Activity: Control the narrative and push the positive (media training, sound bites).
Goal: Serve as a respected and credible conduit of communication between the business community and various agencies.
- Activity: Share information to the appropriate agencies (police, city, outreach workers, legislators).
- Activity: Get data and information/ plans from the appropriate agencies.
Goal: Increase knowledge of business owners about what they can do and what activities are planned by various agencies.
- Activity: Build knowledge and communicate about processes and opportunities.
- Activity: Host relevant events (e.g. information sessions, legislator forums).
