Reggae at Riverview makes its return

OBSERVATORY HILL — The Northside’s picturesque Riverview Park is set to come alive with the vibrant rhythms and infectious beats of reggae music as the neighborhood sees the return of ‘Reggae at Riverview’ festival. With its rich history and worldwide cultural impact, this two-day event promises to be a celebration of unity, music and community.
The festival this year will be held from Aug. 5 from 1-9 p.m.
Against the natural backdrop, the festival aims to recreate the authentic essence of reggae music. Its lineup promises a diverse array of talented regional reggae artists, each offering their unique flair to captivate the audience. Featuring several different DJs/ Selectors along with three different bands, there is a wide variety of musical acts for attendees to enjoy. The event will feature Reggaelar People, Truth and Rights and Ras Profit.
In terms of food offerings at the festival, TOC Jerk Center is providing authentic jerk chicken with the works, while Sista Inadni will be providing an all-vegan menu. To top it off, Small Axe, a local reggae-inspired craft beer, will be featured along with other local brews.
There will also be live art and art sales as part of the festivities.
Raggae at Riverview will take place at the Valley Refuge Shelter, located along Kilbuck Road in Riverview Park. Attendance is free.
