Pirates Night recap
On June 28, for the 33rd year, the Northside North Shore Chamber gathered community members for a tailgate and Pirates game.
This was also the worst day of the poor air quality from the Canadian wildfires. For the safety of attendees, the chamber made a last-minute decision to shift the entire tailgate event indoors. Due to the generosity of John Graf at Priory Hospitality, the move to the beautiful Grand Hall space was seamless. The food was still provided by Allegheny Center Alliance Church, Breadworks and Eat ‘n Park; the beverages were provided by East Street Beer; and we could still play “yard” games coordinated by Alling Insurance. All in all, it was an excellent event and we couldn’t be more thankful for John’s kindness.
A total of 350 people were expected at the tailgate and game. In the end, about 220 people still attended the game, with the others exchanging their tickets for a future date. After the game, a group continued the fun at North Shore Tavern for the after-party.
We’d also like to thank some of the sponsors that helped the event to be an accessible outing for the community. Thank you to Counseling & Wellness Center of Pittsburgh, East Street Beer, First National Bank, Neighborhood Community Development Fund, North Shore Tavern and Pipitone.
