Michael James Harper, son of the late Syree Miller and James Milton Harper, was named as one of the Black Men of Excellence Class of 2023. Ceremonies were held by the Courier at the Sheridan Station Square and Lisa Sylvester from WPXI was the host. Harper is a nurse that worked for Allegheny General for 26 years and currently works for the VA Hospital Pittsburgh. He serves in Pittsburgh Black Nurses, Allen’s Place, and is the Organist for First Church Braddock.
