Brunch in the Garden Room
The National Aviary is holding an event titled “Brunch in the Garden Room” on Feb. 11, starting at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
Food by Chef Josef Karst will be served to attendees as they dine in the Garden Room, as well as drinks from Atria’s.
Tickets are available online at shop.aviary.org/#/Admission/Sunday-Brunch. Prices vary for adults and children. Ticket cost also includes admission to the Aviary.
Pittsburgh’s Mardi Gras Party
Allegheny Elks Lodge will hold their annual Pittsburgh’s Mardi Gras Party on Feb. 13, from 7-10 p.m.
The event will be held at the lodge, located at 400 Cedar Ave, and will feature New Orleans-style food, live music by Colonel Eagleburger’s Highstepping Goodtime Band, Dixie Doc and the Pittsburgh Dixieland All-Stars. There will also be a crowning of a Mardi Gras king/queen, a 50/50 raffle and more.
The event is for people ages 21 and up and tickets are $20 online at eventbrite.com/e/pittsburghs-mardi- gras-party-tickets-563674213747, $25 at the door. The venue is cash-only for drinks and food.
Flamingo Fest
The National Aviary will hold Flamingo Fest on Feb. 24, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event is included with general admission to the Aviary. Guests that day are encouraged to wear their finest pink attire as they head to the Aviary to take part in flamingo arts and crafts and learn about flamingos from experts.
Further, there will be painting experience with artist Maria DeSimone Prascak for additional cost from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendees will get to create a flamingo portrait to take home. To register for the painting experience, visit aviary.org and search for Brushes & Birds: Flamingo edition.
