Hello Chronicle Community! My name is John Aitken, I am the new advertising and business manager here at The Northside Chronicle. I wanted to take a few moments to introduce myself and talk about my role at The Chronicle.

I am a Pittsburgh native and I feel like I have a good deal of familiarity with The Chronicle distribution area but I am excited to get to be involved in the community and meet everyone.

I grew up just a short drive down Route 28 in Sharpsburg and attended Fairmont State College in West Virginia on a football scholarship to play quarterback. After my freshman year I left Fairmont and spent a couple of semesters at Community College of Allegheny County on the Northside before transferring to California University to finish my college football career.

I have fond memories of walking from CCAC’s campus to East O, stopping at Stedeford’s for a few minutes to check out some music, grabbing a hot sausage smothered in peppers and onions, washing it down with a Turners and hopping on the 1A to Sharpsburg.

In my professional career I have a great deal of experience in advertising, marketing, and business development. I am confident that I can be an asset for local businesses and organizations looking for ways to engage customers directly.
