Northside Job Fair to be held April 26 at PNC Park
A Northside Job Fair, organized by NorthSideWorks! and PA CareerLink Pittsburgh will occur on April 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at PNC Park.
Organizers expect to have around 50 or more tables and more than 200 attendees at the event.
Tabling registration for employers, service organizations and training providers is free for Northside/ Shore Chamber of Commerce members, and is $100 for non-members. Registration closes on April 5 and space is limited.

Ribbon cutting held for new Northside flower shop
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on March 21 for the grand opening of Serenity Bloom Floral Couture, a new Northside flower shop.
Serenity Bloom is owned by Brandi Taylor and is located at 1217 Federal St. It is open Tuesdays through Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Coffee celebrating Allegheny Commons Park released
Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy and Commonplace Coffee announced the release of a coffee blend to celebrate Allegheny Commons Park in a March 19 press release.
The beverage, titled “Allegheny Commons Park Blend,” is the latest in a series of blends recognizing Pittsburgh’s parks, and follows the recent completion of a $2 million improvement project at Allegheny Commons Park’s North Promenade.
Commonplace will be on hand to provide tastings of the new blend in conjunction with a community celebration and ribbon cutting ceremony for the Promenade on April 30, at 7 p.m. near the corner of Arch Street and West North Avenue. The blend is also sold at Commonplace Coffee locations or online at commonplacecoffee.com. A portion of all proceeds from the blend will benefit Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy.
Riverview Park holding multiple events in April
Pittsburgh Park Rangers have released their schedule of events taking place at Riverview Park during the month of April.
Nature’s Interconnectedness Guided Hike will occur on April 6 from noon to 2 p.m. Attendees will learn about various topics, such as how trees can communicate with one another, insects that eat only one type of plant, and more about the park’s ecosystem.
Pittsburgh Park Rangers will guide participants along the muddy spring trails of Riverview Park, stopping for various discussions. The event starts at the Park Visitor Center, located at 1 Riverview Ave. Registration is required, at eventbrite.com/e/natures-interconnectedness-guided-hike-tickets-803227223247. A litter pickers event will be held on April 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. starting at the Park Visitor Center.
Equipment will be provided, but attendees should wear sturdy footwear and clothing.

A Full Moon Hike & Allegheny Observatory Tour will be held on April 23, from 8:45 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Attendees will hike Riverview trails for about a mile using only moonlight, and then visit the observatory for celestial viewing (weather permitting). Participants should meet at 1 Riverview Ave.

Finally, April 27 will be an Arbor Day Celebration, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
There will be a celebration of trees at Riverview Park, as well as various family-friendly activities, including tree climbing, guided hikes, vendor booths, food and music, and more. The launch for the “Pictures of the Future” art installation will also take place.

Perrysville Ave. First National Bank closing
The First National Bank location at 3908 Perrysville Ave. is set to close permanently this month.
A sign posted on the bank’s front door says the location will close permanently at 4 p.m. on April 19. Bank customers are encouraged to visit the bank’s office at 100 Federal St. instead, which is located by PNC Park.
