March 2024 poll results reported

Spring has finally sprung and the weather should (hopefully) be warming up. So in celebration of putting winter behind us, let’s take another look at our weekly poll results.
Kicking things off for the March polls, we asked how our readers felt about the Chestnut Street rails becoming an art piece. The brick street is being renovated, and part of those renovations are the removal of its historic street car rails. But instead of disposing of them, the city — thanks to some feedback from members of the public — is planning to turn the rails into an art installation of some kind.
As an idea which came from the public, it also seems popular with the public, as 100% of respondents said they liked the idea.
Next up, we asked when our readers’ birthdays took place, dividing the answers up between the four seasons. If you expected the responses to have an even spread, you’d be wrong.
Summer came out clearly ahead with 66% of the vote. The remainder was split evenly between winter and spring, with no fall birthdays reported. Personally, I’m a summer birthday, so that’s something I share with the majority of our poll respondents.
March saw us return back to Daylight Savings Time, jumping our clocks forward by one hour. As such, we asked how everyone felt about that. This turned out to be our most popular poll of the month.
A total of 50% of respondents said they’d wish we would stop switching the clocks. Meanwhile, 25% said they were happy for the switch, while another 25% said they prefer Standard Time.
Finally, we asked how often our readers visit Riverview Park. The vast majority, 87.5%, said multiple times a year, while the remaining 12.5% said “a few times, but not every year.”
And that’s the end of our poll results for now. We’ll be back in May for the next round. Make sure to check out our weekly polls, posted every Sunday to thenorthsidechronicle.com.
