June poll results reported

Welcome to summer, Northside! We’re well into the warmest time of year, and boy have we been feeling the heat. Or at least I have.
But enough about the weather. A new issue means a new batch of poll results, so let’s see how our readers voted during the month of June.
We kicked things off in the first month of summer by asking what your summer vacation plans were. We ended up with a 50-50 split here, with half of voters saying they were headed for the beach, while the other chose the nebulous “other” option. Sounds like we may have some very interesting summer vacation plans in store.
Next, we asked what your favorite kinds of movies were. Once more, this vote went two ways… and quite a disparity between the two chosen options. Half picked comedy, while the other half picked horror. I’m personally in that latter camp, but I do enjoy a good laugh every now and then.
Our next poll took a look at traffic. Specifically, we asked which area of Pittsburgh had the worst traffic. And in what was a theme for this month, only two options were picked again! Maybe we should start narrowing down these polls to only two options.
In any case, half of voters said East End was the worst, while the other half said all neighborhoods are equally bad.
Finally, our first poll after the official start of summer (which was June 20 this year) asked what was your favorite part of summer. And this was the poll to break out of binary responses.
The warm weather took the lead with one-third of the vote. Sharing one-sixth each were summer vacations, lightning bugs, best time for cold treats and, once more, the nebulous “other” choice.
Looks like we may not have too many young readers, as “school is out” received no votes. Or maybe the kids are just having too much fun to vote in our polls!
That brings an end to this round of results. We’ll be back next month with another batch. You can check out our weekly polls over at thenorthsidechronicle.com, with new polls posted every Sunday morning.
